Hurry Up and Relax!

Living on the East Coast (and I suspect everywhere in the Northern hemisphere) means experiencing the hilarious paradox of stressing out in order to relax, as we scramble to squeeze every outdoor activity, cocktail party, beach day, and summer outing into the fleeting warm months between May and September. With the kids off from school and an abundance of free time on their hands, I often feel like I’m in a race against the clock to make this work: running a business, managing family life, and if luck allows, stealing a few precious days at the beach while I can.

As July 4th approaches, I hope that we can all find a way to unwind, and to step away from the pressures of family obligations, work demands, and our own impossible expectations. To help you make the most of this holiday weekend, I've put together a few ideas for casual get-togethers, a chic cocktail party, and tips for those fortunate enough to find themselves on a nice boat. I chose items that you can count on for many summers ahead, and I hope they are helpful.

Whatever you do, don't miss “Rams Head”, a novel by my dear friend, writer Kathleen Boyes. The story takes place at the Rams Head Inn in Shelter Island, and according to The Gilded Age and Downton Abbey’ Michael Engler, the book “gives a reader a rare peek into the sheltered, safe havens women created for each other in a time where they are most seen as accessories to the men in their lives”. It's the perfect summer book!

AI Skin Analysis: Dr. Eunice Park's AIREM's products just arrived at Matriark, and on Friday July 5th AIREM's Aesthetic Registered Nurse will be at Matriark to do a COMPLIMENTARY AI SKIN ANALISYS. I've done mine and it was incredible. The AI tool identified some surprising areas on my face that needed more hydration, and it gave me a comprehensive analysis on all aspects of my skin. Try it!
