Food writer Nigella Lawson in my fantasy place to read and write my newsletters.
Hi there,
I got news: Matriark has a new home - we are now on Substack! Don’t worry, you’ll continue to receive our newsletter in your inbox, but there are a few new things happening: from no on, you’ll have the option to continue to read it for free, to join as a Founding Member, and to be a paid subscriber.
There are 3 reasons why I decided to take the leap (Watch my video on Instagram with the full explanation)
1 – After “hanging out” on Substack for 9 months or so, I can now attest that they have a strong community of smart, creative, and highly engaged people who I look forward to read from or watch every day. To be honest, at first I didn’t think I belonged. They have so many accomplished writers and known journalists, and I’m not one of them. I read a lot, and I write to share my thoughts in the best way possible, but in no way call myself a writer. But overtime their community grew, and more people like me (ordinary people who write!) joined, each of us with a different point of view to share and enrich their communities. I feel ready now!
2- I wanted to start a podcast, and we can host it on Substack so it makes things easier and a one stop shop for everything Matriark wants to do online. I am SUPER excited about this - I get to chat with incredible people in different fields like the arts, business, health, finance, style - people who I think will enhance our wealth and wellbeing, our raison d'être. Here are some confirmed guests - stay tuned for these great convos: Less Than Half Founder Hall Rockefeller, Field + Supply Founder Brad Ford, Aesthetics of Joy Founder and author of the book JOYFUL Ingrid Fetell Lee, Rachel Carvell-Spedding Founder of Navygrey, Kirk Martin from The Calm Parenting Podcast and so much more. We are planning salons with some of our guests so you can meet them in person, so stay tuned for that.
3- I want to be in charge of what I consume, and I don’t want to be at the mercy of an algorithm. Now, more than ever, it’s crucial that we diversify the platforms that we engage with, and signing up for newsletters ensures that I can opt in for what I want to read and be exposed to. I want to choose the content I read!
As a paid subscriber, you will help me “keep the lights on”. You’ll get the full newsletter content, full podcasts and videos, invitations to our salons and special events. And as a Founding Member you get all of those benefits, PLUS special events just for Founding Members, a chance to get gorgeous things in a special monthly giveaway (you’ll love the swag!), priority access to ticketed events and special discounts with brands that we partner with.
Please hit the button below for the paid subscription. If you want to keep the free newsletter for now, you don’t need to do anything - you are all set.
THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for your continuing support. Lots of love,
Patricia
