Doubling Down on Female Energy
Hi there,
What a week. From the inauguration to executive orders and Mark Zuckerbergβs puzzling comments about the supposed need for more masculine energy in a "neutered culture"βa statement that feels more like a window into his own insecurities and what I think is a midlife crisis of epic proportions (Priscilla, save yourself!)βI felt inspired to double down on female energy. Enter a special edit for Galentineβs Dayβa day dreamed up by the brilliant minds behind Parks and Recreation to honor the power and beauty of female friendships.
In the show, Amy Poehlerβs character, Leslie Knope, describes it best: βEvery Feb. 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. Itβs like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.β Honestly, what could be better than that? π
Now more than ever, we need to band together, lean on each other, and find strength and comfort in our friendships. Galentineβs Day may be cute, but itβs also a powerful reminder that female friendships are key for our wellbeing. Whether itβs your best friend, your rock-solid mentor, or the friend who always shows up with wine and wisdom just when you need it mostβif youβre lucky enough to have them, donβt take them for granted.
With that in mind, Iβve created 2 boards with gifts for every budgetβsweet little pick-me-ups, indulgent splurges, and gifts that show how much you care. Of course, a heartfelt text or an old-school phone call would be just as meaningful. Because if thereβs one thing we could all use right now, itβs a little more care, connection, and celebration of the incredible women who have our backs. β€οΈ
Sending lots of love,
Patricia
