ANGIE BANICKI, Hollywood's go-to Tarot Card Reader

I can't quite remember how I stumbled upon Angie Banicki, but I was in one of those transition phases in my life (as usual!) and I thought a tarot reading would be fun. Angie was warm, funny, and kind, and most importantly for this occasion: her readings were freakishly accurate. So much so that I ended up taking tarot lessons from her. You might recall a couple of years back when I asked for volunteers to practice reading tarot cards; I was booked solid for months, thanks to many of you.

I recently caught up with her over Zoom, and we recorded our conversation, which you can check out on our Facebook Private Chat. We discussed her tarot reading process, how she gets ready for a session, and some funny stories involving a spiritual exchange with cows in Ireland while listening to this Lissie song 😄. She also told me that in the last 2 years she's been working on a project with her friend Kasey Blaustein Greener: Angie brought the tarot expertise, and Kasey lent her amazing design talents to create a beautiful tarot deck based on the classic Rider-Waite-Smith deck, and they are launching tomorrow! Angie was born in Chicago but has lived in Los Angeles for over 20 years. She worked at Harrison & Trifman, managing celebrity clients and brand partnerships, until she began having unusual dreams. A friend gave her a tarot deck, which led her to start practicing readings in restaurants for fun. That was about 13 years ago, when tarot wasn't as trendy as it is today. Angie's talent quickly earned her a solid reputation, and soon she was doing readings at celebrity events for Miranda Kerr, Lissie, Allison Janney, Nikki Reed, Sophia Bush, Ellen Pompeo, Usher, and Kat Graham. And those are just the ones she's allowed to mention—I asked for more names during our interview but many of them required NDAs so her lips are sealed. 🙃
