Valuing and Honoring our Time

Ijust got back from a trip to Brazil. What was supposed to be a 2-week work trip turned out to be a lot more than that. My parents (like all of us) are getting older, and when I saw them this time around I had a strange feeling that nothing has changed, and yet everything has changed. My perception of time got more acute, and that made me think about the changes I want to put in place in my own life going forward. More on that later. I am writing you today because Thanksgiving is upon us and Christmas is around the corner. There will be lists of presents to buy, things to do, parties to attend, and, before you know it, another year will come rolling through.

Time will keep on flying so, If you can, try to take a little breather before you get into the holiday wheel. Maybe you get off social media for a day. Or make a phone call to someone you haven’t spoken in a while to catch up in a more meaningful way. Or maybe you just take a deep breath and stop the inner chatter for a few minutes. ❤️

I read this quote and it resonated with me: “Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time. Until you value your time, you won’t do anything about it.” – M. Scott Peck

I hope you do something nourishing that is truly worth your precious time.
