Inspired by the spirit of adventure and the rich cultural patchwork of the Silk Route, Le Monde Beryl is a luxury accessories brand based in London and founded by friends Lily Atherton Hanbury and Katya Shyfrin. 

Lily and Katya met in London and bonded over a love of jewelry and gemology, art, design and travel. The name Le Monde Beryl references a family of gemstones that includes Emerald, Aquamarine, Morganite and Heliodor, long considered talismanic to travelers and artists. It also pays homage to the pioneering aviatrix and adventurer Beryl Markham, who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic from east to west. 

Launched in 2015 with a new take on the classic venetian gondolier’s slipper, Le Monde Beryl combines exotic fabrics and intricate embellishments with a contemporary design language to create elegant, yet effortless and highly versatile pieces. 

Each Le Monde Beryl collection evokes a beguiling sense of discovery, a door into a sumptuous world of journeys, symbols, colors and textures. Inspiration is drawn from the historical, the cultural and the crafted; from regions, periods and objects as diverse as the ornate metalwork of the Byzantine Empire to the lush fabrics of Venice. Each collection celebrates a unique decorative tradition from around the globe, with every Beryl item handmade in Italy using traditional techniques in collaboration with master craftspeople.
